Heliports London.

There are two places to land a helicopter in London: Battersea Heliport, which is west of London, and Falcon Heliport, which is east of London and is very often known as Docklands Heliport. In most cases, both helicopters demand the use of a twin-engine helicopter to cope with their safety rules. Falcon Heliport especially requires Twin Engine helicopters with no more than four passengers under its safety rules.

The two heliports and the private sites

London Heliport at Battersea, on the south bank of the Thames, is the city's main charter heliport and the departure point for most flights to the races, the airports and the country. Its hours are limited and it closes for part of the weekend, so we check them for every booking. The Docklands heliport, east of Canary Wharf, serves the City and the East End and applies stricter rules on aircraft type and passenger numbers.

Twin-engine rules

Both heliports require twin-engine helicopters, and flights over the built-up area of London follow the Thames and other published routes. That is why our London fleet is built around the Agusta 109 Grand, the AS355 and the EC135 rather than single-engine aircraft.

Beyond the heliports

Private sites inside the M25 are possible with the landowner's permission and air traffic agreement, and they are used for clients with large gardens or estates on the city's edge. Airfields at Redhill, Denham, Elstree and Fairoaks offer departure points around the capital, and a helicopter can meet an arriving jet airside at Biggin Hill air charter, Farnborough or Luton.

The London helicopter charter page covers routes and aircraft, and the private landing sites guide explains what a site needs. Call +44 20 7781 8094 to check a specific location.
