Planning a flight around the heliport’s hours
London Heliport at Battersea is the only licensed heliport in central London, so its operating hours shape every helicopter charter in the capital. The published hours apply on normal weekdays; weekends and public holidays are shorter and the heliport may close for noise-abatement breaks, so we check the current schedule with the heliport for every booking rather than relying on a printed table.
Early and late flights
Flights before the standard opening time or after the evening close are possible with prior arrangement and carry an out-of-hours fee, which we show on your quote. Night departures require a twin-engine helicopter and a crew qualified for night operations; the Agusta 109 Grand and the AS355 both qualify.
Alternatives when Battersea is closed
The Docklands heliport in east London, private sites with the landowner’s consent, and airfields such as Redhill, Denham and Elstree all serve as departure points. For an arriving jet, a helicopter can meet you airside at Biggin Hill air charter, Farnborough or Luton and bring you into Battersea within the heliport’s hours.
Our helicopter transfers London page covers the routes we fly most, and the desk on +44 20 7781 8094 can confirm the hours for your date.
