Flying to Silverstone by helicopter

Silverstone sits on the Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire border, and on a big event day the roads around the circuit fill from early morning. A helicopter removes that problem entirely. From London Battersea the flight is around 25 minutes, and from most of the Home Counties, the Midlands or a private site near your home it is shorter still. You land within the circuit’s own helicopter operation and are on the grid side of the traffic before the car parks have opened.

Charter-A arranges Silverstone flights on twin-engine helicopters such as the Agusta 109 Grand and the AS355, flown by professional crews under a UK Air Operator Certificate. Four, five or six passengers can travel together, and for larger parties we run two aircraft in formation so everyone arrives at the same time.

What happens on the day

You arrive at the departure heliport or private site ten minutes before lift. Your pilot briefs you, loads the bags and you are airborne. On arrival at Silverstone you are met and walked to the hospitality or grandstand entrance. At the end of the day the helicopter is waiting where you left it, and most clients are home before the queue to leave the car park has moved.

Events we fly to at Silverstone

The British Grand Prix is the busiest weekend of the year, but the circuit hosts motorsport, corporate track days and festivals throughout the season. Slots for the Grand Prix weekend go early, so the sooner we have your date the more choice of aircraft and departure point there is.
