Edinburgh by private jet: airports, timings and aircraft

Edinburgh Airport lies eight miles west of the city centre and has a dedicated business aviation terminal with its own parking, lounge and customs facilities, so private passengers never enter the main terminal. From London the flight is around an hour in a light jet and a little over in a turboprop; from Manchester or Birmingham it is under an hour. On arrival a chauffeur car meets the aircraft and the city centre is twenty to thirty minutes away.

Why clients fly private to Edinburgh

• Business travellers avoiding the airline queues and the fixed timetable.
• Golfers heading to the Lothians and Fife, with clubs carried in the hold.
• Festival visitors in August and families at Christmas and New Year.
• Sporting parties flying on to the Highlands by helicopter or turboprop.

Aircraft for the route

For two to six passengers the Citation CJ2 and Phenom 300 are the usual choice; for a larger party a Citation XLS or a King Air 350 turboprop. Dogs travel in the cabin with the correct paperwork. Onward helicopter transfers to estates and hotels in Perthshire and the Highlands are arranged with the flight.

Flight details for the airport itself are on the Edinburgh Airport page. For a quote see private jet charter or call +44 20 7781 8094.
